Juggins family tree from 1635 to late 1800s or early 1900s and other information. The Juggins family were involved with 13 High Street, Oxford as shown in an article. William Juggins (1758-1837) was here at the beginning of the nineteenth century, but in 1807 he declined business in favour of Robert Juggins & William Frogley. They dissolved their partnership in May 1813, and Juggins continued in the old shop. By 1830 Nathaniel Castle, a hatter, men's mercer, hosier, and glover, was here at No. 13 in partnership with Robert Juggins (1784-1837). Nathaniel and his wife were still listed here in the 1851 census with his apprentice Robert Juggins, two servants, and two student lodgers. On 5 April 1856 Nathaniel Castle announced that he had taken his nephew William Robert Juggins (born September 1830) into partnership with himself. Nathaniel Castle died in 1860, and in March 1861 his widow Mary announced that she had disposed of the business to John Juggins (age 29, son of James Juggins and Ann Bolton, brother of William Robert). The 1861 census the following month shows John Juggins, described as a hatter & hosier, living here over his shop with his wife and baby son, plus two servants, and they were still here at the time of the 1871 census.

The attached document also refers to a reference from the diary of Rev Edward Elton, record 1211, about John Juggins, who lived at The Mount, which Elton added on John's death on 18 October 1870.

Record 2016, notes on the Juggins family, states that the family owned Mott House after William Biggs, in 1792, left Mott House to his niece Alice Elizabeth Juggins (nee Turner, married 9 June 1783 but no birth or death dates known). She left it to her son, Robert (1784-1837), who left it to his sisters Elizabeth (1790-1848) and Ann (1796-1835) in 1837. Father, Thomas, was living there at the time. Ann passed Mott House to her brother John (1788-1870, and of whom we know much, see attachment), who left it to her son also John, of whom we have no record.
