Martha Washington's first marriage to 'unknown' is shown from which there was a son Arthur John Washington. He married Thomasina Maria King (after the untimely demise of her first husband and having moved into Wheatley).and moved into The Croft where they began their farming career. Their elder daughter Phyllis Annie Washington married Ernest Charles Shepherd, thus linking the Shepherd Family. Her second marriage was to Arthur White James White's (Uncle Jim) parents were Albert White and Martha Washington, they were married in 1882, and had aat least one son, Arthur White, who lived in the House next to Crown Cottage which was a bungalow when he lived there. It has now had a first floor added.  I remember it as a child but I think it was recently built then (1960's).

The King family reunited in 1918/19: Back row Iris Pittam, Henry Pittam, Bess Pittam, Jack Washington, Thomasina Washington and Tom Moon. Middle row Ann King nee Gunn, David King, Fanny Moon nee King with her first born on her lap. Sitting in front is Rosa May Washington (born 1911) and Phyllis Washington (born 1907) - was to become Phyllis Shepherd, my grandma.
