Whiting family who lived briefly in Wheatley until mid 1850s.

William Whiting (1753-1807) was the father of William Whiting, born in Marcham in 1778, moved to Wheatley c. 1812, and died in 1839. He married Sarah Rogers (1781-1863), and had four children William Whiting (1810-1881), Richard Whiting (1811-1892), Martha Whiting (1813-1863) and Lucy Whiting (1815-1862), the first two born in Marcham before the family moved to Wheatley c. 1812. Richard Whiting was a wheelwright and carpenter and lived in Wheatley until the mid-1850s, moving to Lewknor to live at Well Gound on the Wormsley Estate by the 1861 census, and to Stokenchurch by the 1871 census. He married Elizabeth Sturges, and they had two children, Richard Sturges Whiting (1848-1907) and Elizabeth Whiting, born in 1850.
