John Shorter

Born in 1887 in Forest Hill, son of James and Harriet Shorter. Brother of Arthur and Frederick Shorter. John attended Wheatley Elementary school in 1895. A telegraph boy in 1901; in 1911 labourer in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, boarding at 14 Newcomen Road with his wife Matilda, born in Oakley, who was undertaking house duties.
