Notes from Mrs Megan Surman (neé Hinton) on the houses 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7 Westfield Road and who lived in them.

The 1911 census (and the 1915 Kelly Directory) shows James and Sarah Cooper, with three young children, living in one of these houses which was then the Police Station with him as the Police Constable. This information is not on the attachment as the house numbe cannot be established. In 1921, Arthur Cleaver was the policeman in the police house in Westfield Road (possibly No 7).

Later the police house moved to Holton Turn, and there is reference to the police houses here in Margaret Axford memories (Hughes lived there in 1967).
