Book on Wheatley compiled by Rose Robinson

Archive Notes:

Book on Wheatley compiled by Rose Robinson, probably 1990s.

Attached to this record is a digitised version of the original manuscript (typed by Rose Robinson with hand-written additions) which has been digitised by a member of her family. With age and wear and tear, some of the original text was not easily legible and the digital copy has been made after interpreting text ‘absences’ as best possible. It is an excellent starter, and includes some of the later hand-written text and other information and images added by the family member.

Second-stage amendmenthas been made to correct punctuation, use of capitals and the like, but no changes made to the ‘history’ which is as researched and interpreted by Rose, as any historian would do in putting together a history such as this.

Some of the material was, deliberately, not included in Bygone Wheatley, and other matters are recorded differently. Some of the more remote subject matter can be compared with record 2627, Some Facts about Wheatley.

The original manuscript, which the Archive wants to be accessible to the public, has been trimmed to fit into A5 plastic pockets in a new ring binder, held on the shelves, so that the original is safely preserved.

The digital text has been changed after these actions were completed.
