Wheatley Windmill 1908
Archive Notes:
Wheatley Windmill 1908 with Ellen Cripps (wife of George) on the right, and her grand-daughter Cassie on the left. To the left is the ochre grinder, which was by then no longer in use. It had been operated outside the windmill (to avoid contaminating the flour) using a belt drive connecting the windmill shaft to the grinding mechanism through the door of the windmill.
There is an interview with Cassie on Youtube at https://youtu.be/pfauKKE0VqY
