47 High Street, Ivydale

Walde had taken over this shop by 1935 when it was a general store, but this shows that wool was one of its key products. Later (in 1946) they were a radio specialist and sold photographic items as well and had a car hire and taxi service.  The latter operated out of Holloway Road, and this was sold to Bushnell in 1966. The Walde name was kept, but they were never partners.

In 2018, it was Country Collections, with Identity Hair occupying the small shop on the left.
